Process Post: Project 4

Overall, this project has been really cool! I'm posting this a little late so I have a better sense of the direction of my piece than I did last week. I'm really excited to incorporate the laser printed drawing and I think it'll make a lot of sense thematically. I feel like burning the wood and having layers justifies my reasoning for using wood instead of canvas on this piece. I'm trying to put less detail on this painting because the paint dries too fast. In class, I had to use a liquid that would slow down the drying time of my paint to make it easier to blend my colors together. I have pretty much resorted to just using a lot of paint and that seems to work alright. The paint drying too fast is more of an issue for the larger chunks of paint, like the sky, than it is for details. I'm really excited to finish this piece because I liked trying a new medium (wood laser printing) and I hope I can try new materials in the future as well!
