This lunchtime lecture taught me how an artist can explore many distinct and uncommon forms while staying true to their individual style. I felt even when Mr. Sananikone showed his works from different mediums- such as murals, toys, comics, ect.- all of his pieces shared a common style that made it easy to distinguish his art for other artists. This lunchtime lecture also taught me that an artist can make a living doing art in this modern landscape in an untraditional way. For example, Oura Sananikone doesn't make portraits and sell them. Something that surprised me was that he had murals that he didn't plan or sketch out. A question I have is how he comes up with his ideas of what to create.
